Creating and Managing Strong Passwords

To keep your accounts secure, use these password best practices:

  • Use at least 12 characters
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid easily guessed information, like birthdays, names, or common words.

Many services will suggest strong passwords made up of random letters, numbers, and symbols. But you might wonder, “How will I remember this?”

The answer: Use a Password Manager. A tool like Bitwarden securely stores complex passwords so you don’t have to remember each one.

Important: Avoid saving passwords in places that aren’t secure, like in notes on your phone, chat messages, or emails. These methods don’t have the encryption needed to protect your information from hackers or unauthorized access.

Using a secure, encrypted password manager helps ensure your information stays safe, protecting both you and our organization.
