Taking care of your computer – Powering Down Best Practices
Regularly powering down your computer helps it run smoothly and extends its lifespan. Here’s what we recommend:
- Restart Daily: Restarting once a day helps clear temporary files and refresh system memory, which can prevent slowdowns.
- Shut Down at Least Once a Week: Powering off completely once a week allows the system to cool down and reset. It’s especially helpful for machines that are used heavily. Consider shutting machines down at end of day on Fridays.
- Avoid Constant Sleep Mode: While sleep mode is convenient, leaving your computer in sleep mode all the time can reduce performance over time. Aim to shut down or restart occasionally.
Following these simple steps can help keep your computer in good shape, so it’s always ready when you need it.
